Schottky diodes are a good choice if you need a diode to protect the circuit against reverse current from motor coils. They are much faster than 1n4007, so they are suitable for protecting PWM-controlled motors.The maximum reverse voltage of 40V and current of 1A means that, with a 50% margin, the maximum motor current is 0.6A and the voltage is 26V.
